The UIS Matriculation Centre was established in August 2008 to implement foundation-level programs with the aim of preparing candidates for undergraduate studies at UIS. In other words, the programs offered at the Matriculation Centre serve as “feeder” programs to the bachelor's degree programs offered at the faculties. Through these programs, UIS is committed to producing students who will excel at the undergraduate level and go on to become high-quality, competent, and progressive graduates in their chosen fields.
The pre-university programs offered are feeder programs to UIS's undergraduate programs. They provide and expand pre-university study opportunities specifically for Bumiputera Muslims before they proceed to the undergraduate level. In addition, this offers a shorter pathway to a bachelor's degree at UIS without going through the typical three-year (or six-semester) diploma programs. Therefore, SPM leavers from various types of schools with good academic results may be considered for enrollment in these foundation programs.
- To prepare candidates for entry into undergraduate programs at UIS.
- To produce excellent students who possess a strong foundation and a deep interest in the fields offered.
- To develop students who can maintain academic excellence at the undergraduate level, supporting UIS’s mission to produce quality graduates and to realize its motto as a Leader in the Culture of Knowledge.
The philosophy of the Matriculation Centre aligns with the UIS philosophy. In other words, the foundational principles of UIS, which underpin the establishment of this Centre, are highly applicable to the Foundation Courses. Thus, students are prepared to meet the requirements set by UIS while upholding the core tenets of Islamic education, values, and lifestyle based on the integration of knowledge and noble character.
To become UIS’s center of excellence in producing “Best Students.”
To serve as a foundational knowledge centre that contributes to the growth of UIS as a world-class Islamic institution of higher learning, with the ultimate goal of attaining the pleasure of Allah (s.w.t.).
